Should the batteries of solar street lights be connected in series or in paralle

When the solar street light needs to be equipped with two batteries, is the connection method of the colloid battery connected in series or in parallel? I want to solve this problem from the actual use.

When customers order led solar street lights, they are most concerned about the overall configuration of the street lights, that is, the length of lighting and the number of days of lighting. According to the conventional configuration, solar street lights work for 6 hours every night and can provide normal lighting for 3 consecutive rainy days. Under normal circumstances, this configuration of the street lamp can meet the requirements of most customers, but some customers have very high requirements for the configuration of solar street lamps. There are two reasons here: 1. The led lamps are required to work continuously for 12 hours all night, at least 6 Rainy day. 2. The area where the solar street lamp is installed often has continuous uninterrupted rainy days.

In order to meet the above two requirements, the first thing to do is to improve the overall configuration of solar modules. That is solar panels and gel batteries. When manufacturing batteries and panels, due to limited production processes, they often cannot reach the maximum value. For example, we have not seen any battery manufacturer produce a gel battery with a capacity of 2000 Ah, nor have we seen any solar panel manufacturer make a 5,000-watt panel. Since the single capacity of the accessories can not meet the requirements of use, then the only way we want to achieve the use effect is to use it in combination.

For example, a battery with a capacity of 100 ampere hours is not enough, so we can configure two. An 80-watt solar panel cannot fully charge the battery. We can install a double board. The question worthy of our attention at this time is: Are the two batteries and the two panels connected in series or in parallel? Let's first take a look at the substantial difference between the two. When the battery is connected in parallel, the voltage remains unchanged and the current doubles. When connected in series, the current does not change and the voltage doubles.

Through this set of data, we know that if the power of the lamp is larger and the current is higher, then it can be connected in parallel. If the lamp does not have any requirements for current but requires a high voltage, then series connection is the best choice.

For solar street lights, since the light source uses LED lamp heads, we know that LED lamp heads have low current requirements, so its best connection method should be serial connection, and the solar controller supports 12v and 24v modes. , That is to say, the two 12v batteries become 24v in series and the controller can accept it. However, a battery with a doubled 12v voltage and constant current will still have an indirect impact on the controller. Too high a battery current will affect the output current of the controller.

There will be no obvious difference in the use of parallel connection or series connection, but the reasonable ratio can extend the service life of the light source or the controller.
